Dura Coat and Moly Resin
Adding a custom finish to your rifle can serve mulitple purposes. Primarily, it protects your rifle much better than standard blueing or comparable finishes. Applying a product like Dura Coat or Moly Resin to your firearm is much like putting a rhino lining in the bed of your truck. Each product has it's advantanges over the other.

Dura Coat

When it's time to make your rifle blend with your AO, it's really tough to beat a product like Dura Coat. After the rifle's surfaces are properly prepared, Dura Coat is sprayed on and then baked on at 110 degrees F. However, for a complete cure it is recommended that the finish is allowed to cure for 30 days.

Dura Coat comes in a wide array of colors and custom colors can also be mixed. Many patterns for camoflauge are already available and custom patterns can be created to further enhance the level of concealment of your rifle.

Moly Resin

Moly Resin is another option that is available to help protect your rifle from the elements. While moly isn't currently available in the broad array of colors that Dura Coat is, it is just as tough.

Unlike Dura Coat, moly resin is ready to take the abuse of the elements almost immediately after application due to the fact that it is baked on at 300 degrees F. The short side to this is the fact that you can't bake all of your rifle's parts at this temperature. Synthetic stocks, optics and other non-metal parts are not recommended to be subjected to these temperatures.
